Tributes Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, commenting that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A court order issued a restriction on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the killings, public personalities offered different responses.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making divisive statements that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors recently. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an associate should have intervened when the choice to speak on the tragedy was made.
