Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
