Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
